Terms of Service

Acceptance

By installing or using Chisel, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not install or use Chisel. These terms apply to all users of the extension and the usechisel.co website.

What Chisel does

Chisel is a Chrome extension that improves AI prompts. It rewrites user-typed prompts to be clearer, more specific, and more effective before they are sent to an AI model.

  • Chisel never auto-submits prompts — the user always clicks Send themselves
  • Chisel is not affiliated with Anthropic, OpenAI, or any AI company
  • Chisel does not guarantee any particular output quality from third-party AI models
  • Chisel operates only on claude.ai and chatgpt.com — no other websites

Free tier

  • Free users may use up to 5 prompt improvements per day
  • The daily limit resets at midnight local time
  • Free tier prompt data is stored only in Chrome local storage on your device — nothing is sent to our servers
  • We reserve the right to adjust the free tier limit with reasonable notice to users

Chiseled subscription

  • Chiseled is priced at $12 per month, billed monthly via Stripe
  • A 14-day free trial is included — no charge until the trial period ends
  • You may cancel at any time before the trial ends at no cost
  • Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — access continues until then
  • We do not offer refunds for partial months after a billing cycle has begun
  • Your subscription continues automatically until you cancel it
  • We may adjust pricing with 30 days' notice to active subscribers

Acceptable use

You may not use Chisel to:

  • Generate, refine, or improve prompts intended to produce illegal, harmful, abusive, or deceptive content
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, scrape, or exploit any part of the Chisel service or its underlying APIs
  • Resell, sublicense, or redistribute Chisel's output or infrastructure commercially without explicit written permission
  • Circumvent the daily free-tier limit through technical means, multiple accounts, or any other method
  • Use the service in a way that places excessive load on our infrastructure or degrades the experience for other users

Violations may result in immediate suspension of access without refund.

Intellectual property

  • Chisel, the Chip mascot, and all associated branding are owned by the creators of usechisel.co
  • Prompts you create or improve using Chisel are yours — we claim no ownership over your prompt content
  • The underlying extension code, design, and infrastructure remain our property
  • You may not reproduce or redistribute the Chisel extension outside the Chrome Web Store without permission

Disclaimer

Chisel is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We make no guarantee that improved prompts will produce better results from any AI model. AI output varies based on model version, context, and many factors outside our control.

We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from security vulnerabilities. Use Chisel at your own discretion.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Chisel and its creators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of — or inability to use — the service.

Our total liability for any claim arising out of these terms or your use of Chisel is limited to the amount you paid us in the 30 days immediately preceding the claim.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do:

  • Chiseled subscribers will be notified by email at least 14 days before material changes take effect
  • Free users will see the updated terms posted on this page with a new effective date
  • Continued use of Chisel after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms
